I did both qualitative and quantitative research for my e-vent project to see the issues from both hosts and guests' perspectives. I needed to understand their pain points, which would later help me create a user empathy map.

First, I looked at what issues came up when guests and hosts were talking about special occasions. I read their comments on social media and interviewed them in person and over the phone. Then, I surveyed them so I could quantify the data and find out how common each issue was.

Insights

• Age group between 20-28 had given most responses.

• People host an event rarely and find it difficult to plan & manage big events. Managing the guest list and coordination seems like a difficult task for the hosts. They usually hire a planner depending on the size of the event.

• Last minute change of plans from the guests results to wastage of food.

• The platforms which are used the most are Whatsapp & calling people directly.

• Most of the people said that they need a friend to give them company to attend events.

• People feel alone or lonely to attend events by themselves.

• Usually, the food preferences are not asked by the hosts or they communicate it through whatsapp.
